Weiland Lift Slide Units Features and Benefits
1. Company Highlights
A. The company has over 15 years experience in the design and manufacture of thousands of custom-built lift slide units.
B. We have successfully adapted advanced European door hardware technology to the American market.
C. Our patented products have been designed with the custom home and commercial project in mind. Weiland doors have
been installed in some unbelievable projects including the homes of many celebrities and professional athletes.
D. Each unit is custom-built and tested prior to delivery.
E. Made in the U.S.A. All the manufacturing is done in California, not overseas.
2. The European Hardware
A. The door panel is lifted above the track allowing it to roll easier without friction, which is normally experienced with
conventional sliding doors and caused by dragging and wearing down the weather stripping.
B. Because the door is lowered when locked, the panel weight insures a better weather seal than conventional sliding doors.
C. Heavy duty hardware allows larger, stronger doors to operate much easier than conventional sliders. Custom doors as
large as 12' tall have been designed for our clients' projects.
D. This type of hardware allows us to build curved lift slide units.
3. The Flush Track
A. The bottom track projects above the finish floor by only 3/16" creating a beautiful, almost seamless transition from inside to outside.
B. The flush tracks on multi panel units can be staggered from three tracks to two tracks to one track, avoiding the bulky
railroad track look.
C. A flush track has no high obstacles to walk over or get damaged.
D. An available built-in drainage system is an option and will enhance the door system's weather resistance.
4. The Multi Point Locking System and Removable Handles
A. These features allow for a superior security and locking system.
B. Removable handles provide greater flexibility in design, narrower pockets, and evenly stacked doors in the wall pockets
or in their stacked positions.
C. The choice of a solid brass handle enables our customer to apply a custom finish.
D. Keyed cylinders are available with certain configurations.
5. Glass Options
A. Any glass available up to 1-1/4" thick can be built into the system if necessary and can be ordered to match other glass.
B. The option for no glass is available if the client chooses to use a unique glass or would like to have the glazing done
on-site by others.
C. A warranty is supplied directly by the glass manufacturer to the door owner.
6. Aluminum Kynar 70 Paint Finish
A. We will match any clad colors of window manufacturers.
B. Custom color matching is also available. Just send us a color sample.
C. The Kynar finish is acknowledged as the best available for color retention and weather resistance because of the
time-tested formulation with a high percentage of resin.
D. The Kynar finisher provides a five-year warranty for the finish.
7. Construction Materials
A. Our flush track is made from corrosion resistant aluminum, which is used to build ocean-going boats. It is the best
choice to withstand the tough salt-water climates along ocean fronts and similar harsh environments.
B. Our aluminum door parts are made with 6063 aluminum, which is a stronger and harder alloy than the aluminum normally
used by other door and window manufacturers.
C. We use the highest quality wood species enabling our clients to match cabinetry. Mahogany and Doug fir are two of the
most asked for species.
D. For special projects, the customer can also choose any available wood species.
8. Aluminum/Wood Design
A. The door panels are 3-1/4" thick; 2-3/4" of aluminum and 1/2" thick wood cladding attached to the aluminum by a
PVC clip for superior exterior protection while providing a custom furniture look inside.
B. The aluminum design is much more stable and stronger, especially the larger sizes, without the potential warping issues
of an all-wood design. Active panels as big as 14' x 10' have been built, with certain restrictions
C. An aluminum door is easier to maintain and minimizes issues of termite damage, refinishing, etc.
D. The face measurement of the sash width is only 3-1/2" wide allowing more glass area and better views.
