2. European hardware
A. The heavy-duty hardware system enables larger, heavier door panels to be easily opened and closed.
B. All-aluminum and all-wood units can be built to fold in or outward. Aluminum/wood units can only fold inward.
C. This type of hardware enables us to build panel sizes up to 12' tall and door systems up to 40' wide.
D. Panel widths are dependent upon the type of hardware chosen. Our larger panels are center pivoted and can be built taller than 8' with widths as wide as 52".
3. Design flexibility
A. Man doors can be built into most units for more exit options.
B. The number of panels can be varied to suit the opening size and the desired configuration.
C. Smaller size specifications can also be used as windows for kitchens or bar areas.
D. Our larger center pivot door systems are often used in golf clubhouses, restaurants or recreation centers to create a disappearing exterior wall.
E. Bifold doors are available that meet at corners with no corner posts, creating a unique unobstructed opening to the outside.
F. There are 3 threshold options, two of which have a built in drainage system.
4. Glass options
Any available specialty glass can be used with the following provisions:
A. The glass thickness is 7/8" for panels with heights up to 8',
B. Panels taller than 8' can accommodate glass up to 1-1/4" thick.
5. Side jamb and track
A. In most bifold units, the side jambs are only 3" wide and fit into most existing wall conditions.
B. The standard U channel bottom track is a single track only 3/8" above the finish floor.
C. Side jambs and head tracks can be buried in most applications for a cleaner, more custom look.
6. Kynar finish
A. The door's finish can be matched to most any custom color.
B. The Kynar finish is designed to resist weather and color fading.
7. Advantages
A. Bifolds provide a wide-open view when wall pockets are not possible for a lift slide door option.
B. They are very weather resistant, even when installed along ocean-front properties.
C. Bifolds can be used in many unique situations such as room dividers, kitchen windows, and replacements for small sliding doors when multiple tracks are not possible.
D. Smaller bifolds are generally less expensive than lift and slide units but still provide a high-end custom look.
The Beefy Bifold is manufactured for systems over 8 feet tall. Available in Aluminum/Wood and All Aluminum, it is center-pivot, folding 1/2 in and 1/2 out of the opening. Panels can be as wide as 52" each. The profile on the rails and stiles match those of the Lift Slide systems. The wider panels allow more glass, and less obstructions to the view outside. Weiland Beefy Bifold systems have been built as large as 12 feet tall.
